What are liquid flavors?
Liquid flavors are concentrated flavor compounds dissolved or suspended in a liquid carrier — typically water, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, or a vegetable oil — used to add, enhance, or replicate taste in food and beverage products. They disperse quickly and uniformly during manufacturing, making them the preferred format for ready-to-drink beverages, dairy applications, liquid nutritional supplements, and other moisture-containing systems where dry ingredients are impractical.
Liquid flavors are available as water-soluble, oil-soluble, and emulsion formats, each designed for a specific product matrix and processing environment. They can be formulated as natural, organic-certified, artificial, or natural-and-artificial blends depending on label and regulatory requirements.
